Visit Burbank, along with our own Burbank-based DC and Warner Bros. Discovery, yesterday unveiled a seven-and-a-half-foot tall, 600-pound bronze statue of Wonder Woman in front of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood at 3400 Warner Boulevard in Burbank’s Media District.
We love the WB Studio tour and on one of our trips, the first Wonder Woman movie had just been released, so we were there to see it showcased then. Check out our experience HERE.
But today, two years in the making, the Wonder Woman statue represents the second in a series of Superhero icons funded by Visit Burbank to showcase the city as a leading tourism destination and to highlight Burbank as the “Media Capital of the World.” WonderWoman’s companion statue, Batman, was inaugurated in November 2020 on the AMC Walkway in Downtown Burbank.
The Wonder Woman statue is based on a design by acclaimed artist Jenny Frison and crafted by the skilled artisans at Burbank’s American Fine Arts Foundry and Fabrication. To commemorate the unveiling, Visit Burbank in partnership with DC has reprinted a limited release of the comic book Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace, written by Burbank resident Amanda Diebert with art by Aaron Lopresti.
