With Friends In High Places, 'Ploey' Flies To DirecTV On March 28th

The animated adventure story, Ploey, is coming to DirecTV on March 28th. This PG family film was originally released in Iceland from director Árni Ásgeirsson and writer Friðrik Erlingsson but will soon be soaring into the U.S. with an all new voice cast including Full House star, John Stamos, and Lord of the Rings actor, Sean Astin.

Ploey is not just the title of the movie, but the name of the main protagonist, a little plover chick, that has not yet learned to fly. The plovers come to the island in the Spring to lay their eggs and raise their young, just in time to migrate with their new chicks to the warmer mainland during the winter. The harsh arctic winter has always been too much for the plovers until little Ploey becomes trapped and his family migrates without him.

Separated from his tribe of feathered friends and family, Ploey must go on an adventure of a lifetime through rigorous cold and fierce predators in order to find a legendary valley where he will be able to survive out the winter.

With the help of some new friends, Ploey, must find his strength to fly in order to protect the ones he loves from a predatory falcon awaiting the plovers return.
