What is the Rose Run?

Well, it’s the project that’s been keeping me from regularly posting on BurbankMom.
But that’s okay. Totally worth it.

Rose was my mother. And she was amazing. When she lost her battle with breast cancer in 2009, I knew something great had to be done in her memory to help research…to help patients…to help me heal.

So, my family and I started The Rose Run. To date, we’ve had races in both my hometown in Michigan and here in LA for 7 years. We’ve also raised over $75,000 for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The University of Michigan Breast Cancer Research Department and patient care, The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and The Disney Family Cancer Center.

We’ve always done a fun, community run here in Los Angeles…but this year, now that I’m a 501(c)(3), we decided to up the game and really try to go big.

So, we are!!

Join us on Sunday, October 4th in Griffith Park for a 5k run/walk and 1k fun run to benefit Thrivorship Program here at The Disney Family Cancer Center. This program is dedicated to helping cancer patients ‘thrive’ after their cancer treatments are over. And if you know any cancer patients, like have and do…this is a very important part of recovering from cancer.
This program includes nutritional support and therapy and so much more.
