The Organization, Save Burbank Neighborhoods, Is Hosting A Meeting On The Transitional Housing Element.

Save Burbank Neighborhoods is a non-partisan, grassroots organization made up of Burbank residents who have started a group to support the property value, safety and small town character Burbank has to offer. By sharing this information, whether or not I agree or disagree with any or all of the issues they’re campaigning, the transitional housing Element has brought a lot of concerned readers asking me for questions.
I am sharing here, the meetings they have announced. You may or may not be interested, but this might be a very important issue you want to be filled in on.

Attend the MONDAY, MARCH 31st Housing Element Meeting! Come to the Transitional Housing Outreach on Monday, March 31 at 7pm
Not a fan of unlicensed transitional living facilities in R-1 neighborhoods, then attend this meeting. This could be the MOST important meeting for you to attend. It’s our chance to have our ideas heard regarding updating our Burbank Housing Element. This is what we have been asking for all along… to have public input! This meeting will address Community care facilities, transitional and supportive housing in Single Family Residential Zones. Monday, March 31, 2014 at 7:00pm

What is this meeting?
The City of Burbank has enlisted the services of Barbara Kautz from the law firm of Goldfarb & Lipman who is an expert in Land Use Law, specializing in Housing. She will be presenting information on different uses in single family residential zones and how they relate to state and federal law and the City’s recently adopted Housing Element. Ms. Kautz will also be answering questions from community members in attendance.

City Council will discuss Transitional Housing Moratorium April 1
Save Burbank Neighborhoods officially asked the The Council to discuss voting in an emergency IDCO last week. The Interim Development Control Ordinance (IDCO – also known as a Moratorium) is a temporary ordinance that would prohibit unlicensed supportive housing facilities in single-family residential homes until a more succinct and precise ordinance is drafted.

This meeting is extremely important for you to attend. It will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 6:00pm in City Council Chambers at 275 East Olive Avenue in Burbank.
