I had to see what was going on.
Alli made some major life changes after struggling with using food for comfort when her children were born. (She’s singing my story on that tune.)
“I wasn’t working and I had gained a lot of weight,” she said as we sat in her kitchen recently. “I thought this was an acceptable mom of 2 weight, then I met a personal trainer at Burbank Athletic Club..slowly she taught me a different way of working out. Cardio is good…it’s necessary but there’s a different way to do cardio than to kill yourself on a treadmill for an hour everyday.”
Alli and I both share a love for lifting weights and I was happy when she said, “Lifting heavy is the trick..which is weird, because women are not taught to lift heavy…they say if you lift heavy, then you’re going to look like a man. It’s not true.”
So, with the support of her husband and personal trainer, Alli began the slow, steady process of losing the weight.
Mr & Mrs
She testifies to the fact that even though someone has never been an athlete at heart,
she can become anything she wants to be if she has the drive, focus and support.
My workout…it hurt.
Everything I’ve done in any career has to be something more personal than just showing up in an office…it’s who I am.”
Here’s a little before and after of Alli… the picture to the left is her with her daughter at nearly a size 12. Two years later after a slow and healthy process, Alli is fit, healthy and leading others to do the same.
