Beans, Salsa, Carnitas….delicious!
What busy mom with three kids, school and life wouldn’t say yes to having dinner prepared?!
Of course I said yes, and there is your disclaimer. All opinions you will read below are my own.
I had forgotten I had said yes, actually and on that following Tuesday afternoon…a particularly crazy busy afternoon, I arrived home to find a cooler box on my front porch. I opened the box to find what they called a “Party In A Box.”
There was enough food to supply a party, for sure, and if I had had my stuff together at that moment, I would have certainly had a couple neighbors over to share. But I didn’t have the time. We had more activities to do that evening, so pulled out a couple of items to make a dinner and shoved the rest in the freezer.
Now, here is where I’ll state I am not normally a fan of pre-packaged foods…foods that are generally packed with enough ingredients to keep them fresh until you cook them in 2055. The fresher the better is what we like.
I looked at all of the ingredients on these packages and I counted, at most, 6.
6 whole ingredients.
We made (a delicious) dinner that night in a very short amount of time and were out the door fast.
My husband particularly loved the pupusas…he wouldn’t even share, really.
The family practice grew…and the company is happy to share those recipes of authentic products, made with care.
What I’ve learned about Del Real that I like most though is they sponsor local events and make numerous donations to their community…they keep it local.
I’ve said it before…I like local.
He was freelancing and then had a hockey game and wanted a dinner to pack that would keep him full.
I immediately thought brown rice..and I headed to the freezer to see what Del Real protein I could make, because frankly, I felt like letting someone else do the cooking.
I pulled out the Chile Verde pork and after the brown rice was done and cooling, I popped it in the microwave.
Honestly, it was delicious. I had plenty to pack a meal for my husband the next day too.
