About a year and a half ago, I fell in love with a store. Yes, a store. My friend Brooke had raved about Fresh and Easy and how much easier it made her life. A store making life easier? I didn’t believe it…until one day I decided to check it out for myself and my life as a mother changed forever. As a mother of three, I like to keep my life as simple as possible. I don’t have time for things that are over complicated and Fresh and Easy fits both of these requirements. I love Fresh and Easy because of the vast array of fresh, wholesome foods and streamlined selection of goods. I really don’t need 100 different types of soups to chose from or 20 different types of coffee creamers. I like shopping at a smaller store with gourmet and family friendly foods all in one place. I love Fresh and Easy’s meats and fresh vegetables and fruits, and while I didn’t love it at first, the self checkout gets me in and out of the store fast. Fresh and Easy has changed the way I shop and it isn’t uncommon to find me running in for food a few times each week for something fresh and delicious for my family. In short, Fresh and Easy, with its convenient parking, prepared meals, marinated meats and great produce and baked goods, is this mommy’s special helper and I’m not quite sure how I will survive without it.
If you don’t shop at Fresh and Easy, you have no idea what I’m talking about, but if you are a frequent Fresh and Easy shopper, you are feeling my pain about the announcement by the company’s parent company Tesco that they will be closing the chain. I love Fresh and Easy…as in love it so much I haven’t stepped foot in Vons or Pavilions but a couple of times since I started shopping there. If I was smart, I would start figuring out how I will provide yummy meals for my family once the stores close, but instead, I’m just going to continue on like our relationship will always be.
UPDATE: I am happy to say that Fresh and Easy reached out to Burbank Mom after this post was published to let us know that it looks like there are buyers who will be purchasing Fresh and Easy from Tesco. It is with the highest of hopes that the new owners of the store continue with the same model of great food made fresh and healthy at a great value. Cheers!
