For me, it’s mascara.
Me leaving the house without mascara makes me feel like I’ve got no underwear on and I can’t look someone in the eye without thinking they can see my naked face. Naked is great for many things (and necessary for some really fun things) but having a naked face? Not for me.
I mean, c’mon, nothing makes yoga pants and a sweatshirt more acceptable than slapping on some mascara to pair. I’m claiming that as my own crazy rule, not yours. (Hey, my husband doesn’t mind my sweats, he loves them for many reasons I won’t talk about here, because this is a family show 😉 …take that Eva Mendes.)
I digress. Mascara is the product I do not leave home without, and a friend knows that.
She recently gifted me a product I hadn’t heard of called 3D Lashes from the products she is selling by Younique.
I am a huge fan of home sales and trunk shows. I have different friends who sell many different products and this is the kind of entrepreneurship I love to support….if the product is right, that is.
You see, the purpose of this mascara is a to provide a natural way to extend and fill out the lashes and there is a specific way to do that. It comes with two tubes (in a very fancy case, might I say). One tube is the gel you apply first, the second are the fibers. These fibers are made of tea leaves that coat and give your lashes a fullness that you get normally with false eyelashes. Then after applying the fibers, you coat again with the gel.
Now, here’s my honest fear for lashes…clumps. When Holly was talking about putting small bits of tea leaves on my eyelashes, all I could think about was Tammy Faye Baker.
That is NOT a look I wanted at all. But, I kept my mouth shut and gladly accepted the gift.
It took me a few weeks to finally getting around to using the mascara, but I’m glad I did. I actually used it last night heading out to a fundraiser for a local charity. After I was fully ready and showered, I put the mascara on hoping it was as nice as people were telling me about it.
And it was! It was easy to put on, there were no clumps and I do think it made a difference in my eyelashes and their ability to be visible by the people around me. (See previous comment about me not liking having naked eyelashes.) I’m a believer.
Now, I will admit, this mascara comes with a $29 price tag, which probably means it won’t be my every day running errands mascara, not to say it can’t be. Is it worth the money? Yes, yes it is. But I also think I’ll be using this mascara for the special getaways with girlfriends or date night with my husband…whether I’m wearing sweats or not.
I adore Holly and she and her business come with my high recommendation. She’s passionate about her products and better yet, they come with a “Love It” money back guarantee!
