Create Your Own Bowl At El Pollo Loco For A Limited Time!

El Pollo Loco is one of those drive thru places I don’t mind stopping. I’ve been creating weekly meal plans for our family for almost 2 months now and it’s saving us a lot of money and making me feel better about what we’re eating. Of course with three kids, school, sports and life in general, the occasional drive thru is inevitable.

El Pollo Loco is our favorite. We can get simple ingredients, fresh chicken grilled right in front of us and all of my kids eat it.

Starting October 16th (for a limited time) El Pollo Loco is offering a Create Your Own Bowl meal! I took the kids yesterday to give them a try and for myself and my eldest it was a hit. My two younger ones stuck with chicken legs, corn on the cob and tortillas.

I love choices. Normally you have to say “Can I have this, but none of that and this instead?” Not here. You have choices. This genere of food happens to be my favorite anyway, so I may be a little biased here, but a bowl with rice, black beans, grilled chicken breast, guacamole, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo is basically a food group to me.

It wasn’t perfect though until I added salsa, cilantro and El Pollo Loco’s green sauce. I have no idea what spicy deliciousness makes up that salsa, but I looooove it.

It doesn’t matter if you have a picky eater or are health conscious, they have a wide variety of ingredients to choose from to make their perfect bowl in three easy steps: ·

Pick 1: Chopped Thigh, Chopped Breast, Pork Carnitas

Pick 2: Rice, Pinto Beans, Black Beans, Lettuce, Broccoli

Pick 3: Avocado, Cotija Cheese, Guacamole, Cut Corn, Sour Cream, Mango Salsa, Jack Cheese, Pico de Gallo

Top it off with Poblano Salsa, Creamy Cilantro, Ranchero Sauce or Queso
