It all started with boysenberries and fried chicken.
Knott’s Berry Farm is celebrating it’s 75th Anniversary of the very thing that got it started as the amusement park it is today.
Way back when, Mrs Knotts’ fried chicken had people coming for miles. They’d wait in line for up to three hours to get some of the chicken that is still made in her restaurant today. As a means to keep the folks entertained while waiting, the Knott’s family started adding attractions and amusements for customers to stay happy while waiting for dinner.
Voila! Knott’s Berry Farm.

Ghost Rider is newly renovated and open for business.
This summer, head to Knott’s for a couple really great amusements…starting with the re-opening of GhostRider! This wooden roller coaster got a makeover and is now a much smoother ride than before. All 4500 feet of the track has been replaced. GhostRider is the largest attraction in park history and one of the longest and tallest wooden roller coasters in the world.
This 2 minute long ride zips you at speeds up to 56 miles an hour.
The second thing you and your family are going to love is the Ghost Town Alive interactive experience. For the first time, Ghost Town banks, barbers and more are open to visitors. And not just that, they are occupied, by extremely interactive residents of Calico. The whole town is in on it.
You play a role in new stories and adventures unfolding daily in the old west town of Calico
Your little ones might be asked by the banker to deliver a sweetheart letter or flower to the school teacher he fancies in the school house. The Calico photographer may ask you to stop for a picture for the newspaper, while the editor of said paper may ask you to hand deliver the latest copy to the jail.
And it’s all so real. Your kiddos will love this..as will you. I got to play spoons with a man right out in front of the Blacksmith!
Get a mustache painted on at the barber, turn in a claim at the Assays Office, visit some of the stagecoach horses at the Livery, stop in for a show at the Calico Saloon and visit the updated mine ride. We love Knott’s Berry Farm!
