On Monday, August 21st, all of North America will be treated to one of nature’s most awe-inspiring sights – a solar eclipse. This will be the first visible solar eclipse since 1979. All are welcome for a Viewing Party at Olive Park Field #1 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Viewing glasses donated by JPL will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Help Under Privileged Children Have Fun this Halloween!
Grade Potential Tutoring is currently organizing their annual Halloween Costume Recycling Drive! Grade Potential is gathering used (and new) costumes from the community that will then be distributed to local children in Foster Care, who otherwise would not enjoy wearing a costume this Halloween.
“Many families in the community have old costumes that their children have either outgrown or will not wear again because they want to be something different this year for Halloween,” says David Serwitz, CEO of Grade Potential. “We know how expensive Halloween costumes are and that many families cannot afford to purchase them. There are already many great charities and drives that collect and distribute necessities such as canned food and clothes, but I like the idea making it possible for some of the under privileged kids in the area to have the same fun on Halloween that I had as a kid.”

Grade Potential Tutoring Halloween Costume Drive
Grade Potential is looking for costumes for children of all ages and sizes. The costumes should be in decent shape with no large tears or issues. All types of costumes are welcome, from Super Heroes to Princesses and everything in between.
Collections will run from now through November 17th. Costumes collected after Halloween will be stored and then distributed in 2018. Thank you!
Guests of all ages are invited for a special end of the summer night swim. Beverages and additional snacks available for sale at the Snack Shack. Regular recreational swim prices.

Join Santa and special guests on Saturday, December 2nd, for a magical night in front of Burbank City Hall. The festivities will begin at 6:00 PM as we ushers in the Sounds of the Season with performances from the RC Kickettes and The Muses from John Burroughs High School. After the ceremony guests are invited to visit with Santa, write a letter to our U.S. troops, and enjoy holiday music.
