Burbank has never been a city to turn its back on those in need. Not in my experience, anyway.
And today, Burbank has its first Little Free Pantry.
On February 15th, 2018, South Hills Church in partnership with Burbank local, Tara Duffy, have installed a Little Free Pantry on the church property. The mission of the Little Free Pantry is “neighbors helping neighbors.” The pantry is intended to help those in need in our community by providing food, toiletries, self care items, etc. It also encourages community sharing by allowing anyone to donate to the pantry. The motto painted on the pantry itself is – “give if you can… take if you need.” The amazing graphics were painted by local artist Savannah Jarratt of www.radowl.com. South Hills Church is located at 222 S. Victory Blvd., Burbank, CA 91502. The pantry is located on the south side of the church, on West Tujunga Avenue.
This project is a very heartfelt endeavor which seeks to take action against food uncertainty and to provide a positive resource to the community of Burbank. The rules of the pantry are:
- Non-perishable boxed or canned food items
- Toiletries
- Personal care items
- Paper goods
- School supplies
Thank you Burbank!
