I was leaving the library as the owner of the vehicle was just arriving.
Of course I said something. I had to.
I handed her my business card and asked if I could take a photo of the plate.
See…I had permission!
The car belongs to Mary Ortiz. Mary is originally from Burbank…born and raised.
She attended Theodore Roosevelt Elementary,
Jordan, John Muir and Burbank High. She is a proud mother of two children, both of whom are proudly serving our country in the U.S. Army and both who were born at Providence St. Joseph. Her son is currently stationed in Germany and her daughter is stationed in Korea.
Mary says “my fondest memories of Burbank are the Golden Mall, Michelle’s record store, the Picwick drive in, Thrifty’s ice cream (corner of Olive ave & Beachwood). Lancer’s & Baragan’s are still a favorite as well as the Corner Cottage & let’s not forget Tommy’s although heartburn is now an issue =)”
I love that Mary adores Burbank so much, she’s sporting the name on her out-of-state plates…just in case anyone forgets where her loyalty lies.
She’s one proud Burbank Mom.
