Who doesn’t love a little villain action? After all, what would a good story be, if it weren’t for the dark sides we all secretly love. Thank you Universal for the invitation to come and check out this spectacular event! The “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” will illuminate Hogwarts castle and “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” nightly from April 13 – 28 at Universal Studios Hollywood then return from May 25 – 27.
I may or may not have gotten a little excited about this.

This exciting all-new experience in “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will cast a mesmerizing display of light, music and special effects, unleashing the darkest creatures and villains, including the powerful Dark wizard Lord Voldemort.
Illuminating a darker side of the Wizarding World, this spectacular new light projection experience will be a departure from previous “The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” and “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.” “Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle” will bring more intense tones and drama that reflect the Dark creatures and wizards that challenge goodness in the Wizarding World.
3 Tips For Enjoying ‘The Dark Arts’
If you’re headed to Universal Studios Hollywood for a whole ‘lotta magic, here’s three tips I have for enjoying The Dark Arts In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

3. Take The Time To Explore The Wizarding World!
This is a no-brainer! If you’re visiting Universal Studios Hollywood, exploring all that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has to offer is a must. If you love rides, check out The Forbidden Journey ride, or Flight of the Hippogriff for the smaller wizards. Be sure to find the perfect magic wand (or let it choose you) at places like Ollivanders as well as get a photo at Hogwart’s Express and try some traditional British food at Three Broomsticks! There’s just so much magic!

2. Make Sure To Taste The Butterbeer!
Parents, no need to worry about this one. The story characters we know might get a little tipsy off of this butterbeer, but be rest assured, there’s no alcohol in this ‘beer’ drink at Universal. You can get butter beer on ice or frozen (blended). Our personal favorite is to get it warm during the holiday season at Hog’s Head Pub!

1. Get In Line, But Don’t Worry About Being At The Front!
You may start to see the crowds gather to line up for the light show you’re wanting to also see, but no fear! There’s no need to get your Muggle pants in a bunch to get to the front of that line. As a matter of fact, staying back in that line will allow you to see much more of Hogwarts Castle, and in this instance, view more of the Dark Arts show, than you would in the front!
