I don’t hate McDonalds.
I would be lying to you if I said anything close to “We don’t eat at McDonalds” or “We prefer real foods.”
Ya know why?
Because life is crazy and as much as I want to give my kids the best diets possible, I don’t always have my act together. We grab Mickey D’s every once in a while…and I won’t feel guilty about it.
Maybe a little….
Ok…so there’s guilt associated with our McDonald’s’ stops.
But that’s only because…well, it’s not good food.
When I was pregnant with my last baby, I developed gestational diabetes and I went balls to the wall and rocked it. I ate no sugar, did amazing and lost weight while the baby grew. I felt fabulous..I had high energy and felt better than the other two pregnancies all the way up to the end.
Then about a month after her birth, I tasted McDonalds for the first time in 4 months.
It tasted like plastic.
I remember it distinctly. I took one bite out of the burger, and that was it. Threw it all away.
Yet, here we are, 3 years later…and I’m back on the McDonalds bandwagon.
As I type this…I’m making myself sick.
No McDonalds this week…but maybe next Saturday when Ronald pays a visit.
