Thank you Expressing Motherhood.
Back in August, while I was canvasing the neighborhood, (sharing flyers with our local neighbors about our show at Theatre Banshee) I came upon Mindfulnest. I cannot believe I did not know this amazing gift store was there! What rock had I been hiding under?
Amanda Vernon, the co-owner of Mindfulnest, operates the store in Burbank. They actually have another location in Santa Monica, which is operated by co-owner, Diane Jackson.
Amanda grew up in Van Nuys and has since moved to Burbank. She says “Burbank was always a mystery to me. You knew something was different about it. When I opened a business here…I got it. It’s the Community.” Amanda is a mother of four, and honestly, she is one amazing Burbank Mom.
Mindfulnest has been in Burbank since July, 2009. It’s located on the corner of Lima and Magnola Blvd. in the heart of Magnolia Park, where they carry a huge assortment of gifts and treasures all created in the U.S. 70% of the items in their shop are handmade by local Los Angeles artists & small companies.
Amanda has loved putting these roots down in Burbank, as she loves “the people and the friends she’s made.” She’s witnessed time and time again younger people coming in to shop for themselves and at the same time finding gifts for their parents. She feels confident that there really is something for almost everyone in this store..especially moms and teachers.
Their hottest items might just be the unique greeting cards they carry..all on recycled paper..as well as handcrafted jewelry. Free gift wrap is available on all purchases. You seriously cannot beat free gift wrap!
There are so many places to visit in Burbank…this is just the tip of the iceberg. But…be sure to visit the tip of the iceburg…Mindfulnest is a place you could lose a good hour in!
