Well, for most of us, the first day of school as come and gone! I really can’t believe how fast the time moves (says every generation before us as well). This coming Saturday, Orchard Supply Hardware is hosting a fun event for kids 12 and under. You can make your own DIY Back To School Frame to keep that first day of school image hanging front and center to let you
cry… embrace the growing children before you.
The kids and I received a free kit in the mail (Thank you OSH) to go ahead and give this a try!
It was so simple.
We used the wooden paint stirrers for the frame, cut to the size of whatever picture I had.
Let’s be real..I’m not going to go printing pictures anytime soon and that’s just fine. My printer and paper work just fine!
I picked out the pictures I wanted and we made a couple of frames.
And my favorite was the one we did with just the end of the paint stirrer. I had to print a tiny picture for this…but I love it!
We painted them with chalkboard paint and then used a chalk marker to write on it. Then we put them together with glue dots and some Elmer’s Glue for the glitter. (When you have sisters, the boy loses out to pink glitter.)
You can choose to do with it what you want, at this point. We used some tiny magnets to put on the fridge. You could also use the 3M squares to adhere to a wall.
This coming Saturday, OSH has a fun event for all kids 12 and under. They can come in and make their own frame for free!
And….I’m giving away a $25 gift card to OSH! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment here or on my Facebook page on this post, on who was your favorite elementary school teacher and why. What memories we have ourselves! I can’t wait to hear my kids’ when they’re adults.
So, go ahead and leave a comment….I’ll pick a winner at random on Friday morning, August 26th! You can enter from anywhere…I’ll just drop this baby in the mail to you, if you’re not immediately close in Burbank. The winner will be notified via the method they left the comment. (Facebook or Blog post)
And don’t forget to grab the $10 coupon to OSH at the bottom of this post! Happy School Year!
Good luck and have fun making those memories last!
